Renovation Updates

9-11/09  The Neighborhood Design Center finished up the work they were doing for us.  thet provided design, blue prints, and a lot of "green" ideas for our renovation.  Unfortunately with the state of the economy, we really do not know what direction, if any, this project will now lead.  Thank you very much to the Design Center!

3-9-08   The architects came by the firehouse and we adjusted some ideas and came up with new ones as well.  Some decent progress is actually being made.  Once we get the newest drawings we will post them for you to see.

01-23-09  As the company member should know, the Captain has just received new information from our new architects.  They have drawn up floor plans and offered us a couple of ideas on the renovation.  It appears we are back in business after our setback.  Will Keep you posted on any new information.

11-3-08  We now have a meeting set up with our new architects, it is set for November 15,2008.  To my knowledge they still have all the information that the old architect did.  We will see soon enough where we stand on the design part of the firehouse.

10-18-08  We have had a delay due to the original architect assigned to work with us had to move back to his home country for personal reasons.  However a meeting is being set up as we speak with our new architect.  To my knowledge, he has all the information that our last architect had done.

8/15/08  Our current architect had to withdraw his services.  Right now we are in the process of getting another architect assigned to help us with the renovation project.  All the files should be given to the new architect. Will keep you updated.

6/28/08  The Architect will be coming to our firehouse in the next week or so just to take a couple of measurements and discuss a few things on the layout.  Once this is complete he will have initial blue prints and cost estimates for us.  Now the fun part,  going to find the funding!!!!!

4/13/08   The Captain took the architect to the quarters of E26 and E41 to give him some ideas on the layout to accomodate all people.  He said it was good information and they came up with good ideas, so we will see.  We should have preliminary drawings and cost estimates very soon.  This will help us kick start the next phase of  the renovation process, finding the funds.  We have also made other contacts that will assist us in our adventure.  Will keep you posted of our process.

3/19/08  Met with the architect and covered some issues on the set up of the firehouse.  He also gave us some good ideas to assist with funding.  We wil be meeting with him in 3-4 weeks to get preliminary layout and cost estimates

For a detailed report of the meeting click here

3/17/08  Just confirmed the appointment with the architect.  We will be meeting on Wednesday the 19th at 1400 hours.  To my knowledge the intial blueprints are done and the Captain, will be giving any adjustment to the layout as needed.  I will keep you posted.  Check the website for more info. after the meeting has taken place.

1/20/08   The architects have been to the firehouse and taken measurements.  They should have received all the  information they need to get started.  I will contact them soon to see how there progress is going.

01/15/08   Just received an email from one of the architects and they will be here on 1/17/08 to start taking measurments of the firehouse.  He stated this may take more than one day.  Please be on the lookout.

12-6-07      I heard from the Neighborhood Design Center today,  they are committing two architects to draw up blue prints and do cost estimates on the firehouse.  This is a big step forward for us, however not the hardest.  We are meeting with them at the firehouse on Tuesday December 11, 2007 @ 1000 hours.  They will take a look at the firehouse to see what they are dealing with and for us to go over what will be done.  Then I believe they will get to work.

12-7-07  When we attended the community meeting I met with State Delegate Haynes and State Delegate Kirk.  I discussed again with them what was going on.  They are very optimistic that they can get the Govenor to match whatever funding we raise.  The Executive Director of Bon Secours was discussing our project with a Vice President of Bank of America, he was very interested in our project, also great news.

12-11-07  Today we met with both architects and a rep from the Neighborhood Design Center.  They did a walk through and received input on how we want it set up.  We do have two architects assigned to our project.  We made a realistic time table for completion.  As of right now here it is:
January - site survey, measurements    February - Preliminary drawings (different ones to go over with us)     March - more final drawings.
They stated by June of 2008 to have the drawings and cost estimates.
